The Holy River Ganges is the most holy river in the Hindu faith and its source at Gomukh at the Gangotri glacier. The glacier events about 30 kilometres long. The Gangotri glacier is bounded by peaks belong to the Gangotri Group of mountain, including some that pose a challenge to mountaineers, such as Shivling, Thalay Sagar, Meru, and Bhagirathi III. The glacier follows a N. Westerly route located below Chaukhamba Mountain, the highest climax of the group. Gaumukh is one of the holiest places for Hindu pilgrims who come here to spectator the birth of Mother Ganga. The trek takes one to Gomukh (cows mouth), the legendary foundation of the River Ganges, which is at the nose of the Gangotri glacier.
Day 1: Drive from Haridwar to Uttarkashi (235km/6-7 Hours)
Waking up early the next day, enjoy a delicious breakfast and begin with a drive to Uttarkashi along the narrow Ganga and Bhagirathi valleys. Enjoy picturesque views as the heavy trail will offer a view of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi Rivers at Devprayag which is home to a Lord Rama place of worship called the Raghunath Mandir, and was visit by the great Hindu theorist called Adi Shankaracharya. Evening will be at leisure follow by overnight stay in Uttarkashi.
Day 2: Drive from Uttarkashi – Gangotri (10,000ft) (95km)
After breakfast in Uttarkashi, start heavy through Harsil and proceed towards towards Gangotri, the spot where Goddedd Ganga descended. Once there, take in the loveliness of the good-looking gorge at Bhairon Ghati and check-in into a restricted hotel for a during the night stay.
Day 3: Trek from Gangotri to Bhojwassa (12,440ft)
Enjoy a hearty breakfast in the dawn and then begin the trek to Bhojwassa via Chirvasa (3,600mt) along a well laid pathway. The trek for the day follow the trail organization parallel to the Bhagirathi River. Bhojwassa is studded with trees and is mostly barren, often compare to the Arctic Tundra region. From Chirvasa, ascend senior towards Bhojwassa - the last occupied place on this route. On arriving at Bhojwassa, camp near a small temple followed by dinner and during the night stay.
Day 4: Trek from Bhojwassa – Gomukh (12,760ft) – Tapovan (14,640ft)
On your way to Tapovan, feast your eyes on the charming Bhagirathi I, II and III glaciers. Chance are there, you will come crosswise herd of the Bharal (blue stack goats); truly a delight for the shutterbugs! Arriving at the campsite beside flowery field and gurgling streams, retire for the night.
Day 5: Trek from Tapovan – Meru Glacier – Tapovan (14,640ft)
Spend the day explore the region; enjoy sights of snow-capped peaks, flora and fauna and the ton landscape. Make a visit to Kriti and Meru glacier follow by dinner and right away stay at the site.
Day 6: Trek from Tapovan – Bhojwassa (4-5 Hours)
Wake up and enjoy the early morning dawn over the peaks. After breakfast, trek down to Bhojwassa, which will take around 4-5 Hours and you arrival at Bhojwassa camp will be follow by dinner and during the night stay.
Day 07: Bhojwassa - Haridwar
Morning after breakfast trek down to Gangotri, where our car will be to come for us. Then drive to Haridwar. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
